Paul Thompson

I’m married to Meryl, and have lived in Upminster since 1977. We have two married Christian children and five grandchildren. Before taking on full time leadership of King’s Church, I was an Assistant Head Teacher & Design and Technology teacher in the school in which the church meets. Meryl was also an infants teacher until recently and now co-ordinates the children’s work in the church.

I have attended church nearly all my life, but became a Christian at the age of 17, and haven’t looked back since.

I enjoy football, music, house & garden design, studio pottery, and the English countryside.

I have a strong vision to build a vibrant New Testament style church which demonstrates God’s love, grace and power, and I feel very privileged to lead a great group of people!

Malcolm Sullivan

I became a Christian in 1969 and I married Sandra in 1970.  We have served God in different churches from Plaistow, Dagenham, Grays and out to Basildon before settling at Upminster a few years ago.

During this time we have repaired windows, swept floors, run a Christian bookstall, taught children, led youth, managed parents and toddlers’ groups, taught and pastored.

We have two children and two grandchildren. Before retiring I was head of the faculty of Mathematics and Computing Science at Palmers College, Grays.

In our spare time we enjoy gardening, growing lots of our own vegetables and soft fruit, cooking, hospitality and walking in the countryside and by the seaside.

As we slow down a little we want to use our experience to help others to grow in their walk with God and reach their full potential.
